Wedding Invitations | Frank Lloyd Wright
When the gals at Orchestrated tapped us for paper goods to use at their most recent shoot we swooned at the location – a Frank Lloyd Wright house in Virginia Beach! To have the opportunity to design pieces inspired by one of the great modern architects was truly an honor and we hope we did him proud. In considering the pieces to be created, we wanted to go outside the usual 5×7 Invitation with RSVP card and create a piece that was more of a weekend guide. It also has a structural nod to Wright’s love for angles and the hemicycle design of the home, including a drawing of the plans on the back. We wanted to go beyond just inviting guests to the event so the suite shares information about the couple, the events and the history of the home. Also to break out of the norm, the RSVP card was perforated at the end of the accordion card, making it a detachable Postcard and playing to the destination feel of the beach. We tied everything together using other common Wright elements like copper and leather. The palette for the event and all the paper goods was also inspired by the house itself – using burgundy, sage and mint green and a soft tan. Can you tell we were a little excited for this one? What’s even better is the entire shoot will be featured tomorrow on a very special wedding blog, so stay tuned!
